A couple isn’t “good” or “bad” all at once. It does well in some areas and struggles in others, often without the two people putting the same words on it. That’s why the MyLoveLab test doesn’t give a single overall grade: it measures seven dimensions separately, each with a score out of 100, and the program works on them one by one, ten levels each.
These seven dimensions come from research in couple psychology: Gottman on communication and conflict, Bowlby and Sue Johnson on attachment, Chapman on love languages, Perel and Basson on desire, Bodenmann on support. Each page below explains what the dimension covers, the signs that something is stuck, what the research says, how we measure it, and how we work on it.
