Who is behind MyLoveLab

MyLoveLab is Laurène and Jules. We’ve been a couple for seven years. Seven years of highs, lows, and moments when it very nearly ended for good.

We got together in high school, and we’re still in a long-distance relationship today. In practice, that means no money for a couples therapist, a distance that makes seeing one together even harder, and above all everything that gets in the way before you even reach the door: the fear of being judged, the feeling that “it’s not that bad,” and not knowing where to start.

So we taught ourselves. We read, a lot. We tried things together, got it wrong, started again. And over time, we understood quite a bit about what holds a couple together, and what wears it down without anyone noticing.

Around us, we saw the same thing: couples our age holding together less and less, friends going through exactly what we had gone through, with no more access to help than we had.

That’s where MyLoveLab comes from. First for us, to put words and a method on what we had learned. Then for the people we know. Then for everyone, because seeing a therapist isn’t easy, for all the reasons we lived ourselves. It’s something we truly care about.

What we wanted to build

A couple test that isn’t a magazine quiz: 15 minutes, questions that adapt to your answers, and a report built on research in couple psychology, from Gottman, Bowlby and Sue Johnson, with sources explained on the method page.

And behind it, a program to actually move forward: one short session a day, concrete exercises to try together, dimension by dimension. Because a diagnosis on its own changes nothing. What you do next is what counts, and that’s what we were missing.

All of it anonymous, with no sign-up for the test, and designed for every couple, whatever your orientation or gender identity.
